Each member of our team has extensive experience in managing complex strata schemes coupled with broader property exposure to guarantee informed and considered advice.

Our team have followed property trends over the years and as such, possess a full understanding of the unique requirements of the industry. Rachael Kwawegen - Managing Director

Rachael is a property and strata management professional, bringing over 15 years experience to The Strata Agency. Starting her career at one of the largest real estate agencies in Sydney's Eastern Suburbs, she has worked across all areas of property, including rentals, sales, administration and strata management.

Rachael was also a member of a senior management team of a progressive and innovative strata management company in 2001. In less than 18 months Rachael helped grow the business from 2,000 apartments under management to 22,000 by acquiring and integrating over 18 strata businesses. In her two main roles within that company as a Senior Asset Manager and Operations Manager, Rachael was responsible for managing a team of over 20 strata managers and support staff in New South Wales and Western Australia. Rachael has managed a diverse portfolio of company title, residential, commercial, hotel and industrial strata schemes ranging from 2 lots to over 200.

Rod Smith - General Manager

Rod Smith is a Licensed Strata and Community Manager with extensive experience in managing prestigious residential, commercial and retail developments throughout Sydney. Rod has a specialty in the management of large complex Strata Schemes, Community Associations and Building Management Committees. Rod has successfully completed a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting / Finance) which he obtained from UNSW. Prior to pursuing a career in multi owner property, Rod worked for a Big 4 accounting firm specialising in taxation and financial services.

Rod has an outstanding record of providing exceptional service to clients and has a passion for developing and training staff members.

Justin Steer - Business Development Director

Justin Steer is a Licensed Real Estate and Strata Managing Agent, as well as a Registered Valuer, who possesses outstanding knowledge and expertise in all aspects of the property industry. Following eight years of dedicated study, Justin successfully earned himself an Advanced Certificate in Property Agency as well as an Advanced Diploma of Property Valuation, enabling him to perfectly combine best practice and theoretical knowledge with hands-on experience in the field.

He has run his own business, built rent rolls, managed 200-unit plus buildings and sold residential real estate for many years, both in franchised and independent agencies. Justin has chosen to work with The Strata Agency due to its exceptional training and high business standards; its young, boutique, fresh and dynamic brand; and its focus on providing exceptional customer service.

Candy Alba-Guillon – Trust Accountant and Financial Controller

Candy joined The Strata Agency in 2010 and brings with her approximately 14 years strata accounting experience. Candy holds a certificate of registration as issued by the NSW Office of Fair Trading. Candy has completed a degree of Bachelor of Science in Commerce, Major in Accounting, with distinction, and is currently completing her Associate of CPA Society of Australia and Certificate in Chartered Secretaries Australia. Candy is also a NSW Justice of the Peace.

Candy can easily grasp technical issues to resolve them efficiently. Since Candy’s appointment she has implemented a number of exciting processes such as online services for clients, BPay payments and electronic reporting to clients.
